Wirelessly linking to components through radio wave signals and the Z-wave communications protocol, the Vivint Smart Hub is the central command interface for your home. You can arm your system, program lights, update the thermostat, and more. If adding a doorbell camera, you may even speak to whoever’s standing at your door. The Vivint Smart Hub has cellular capability and a backup battery for added reliability. It also provides complete remote operability through the Vivint cell phone app.
Here’s a sample of the things you can do:
- View real-time or saved video streams from all integrated security cameras
- Arm and disarm your system
- Turn lights on or off
- Operate your garage door
- Change your thermostat’s temperature
- Talk directly to monitoring agents
You can do even more with your Vivint Smart Hub in Flint by programming schedules or establishing rules. For instance, you could have your smart thermostat change automatically each night at a particular time. Or, you can set rules like having your doors unlock if the smoke alarm trips.
Tips for arming and disarming your system
Before you get into all the terrific things your Vivint Smart Hub can accomplish, you’ll need to grasp how to arm and disarm your system. It’s straightforward - just adhere to these instructions:
- Tap the shield icon on the home screen and swipe to the left for “Stay” and right for “Away.”
- Stay means you will be in your house and arms all sensors except interior doors and motion detectors.
- Away indicates you will be away, and all sensors in your home will engage.
- To disarm, all you need to do is slide the shield icon down and input your PIN.
The Smart Hub will show a message if something is stopping the system from arming. For example, an open window or door will urge you to take action. Note that you may still arm the system by using the above steps. You will then have to verify that you want to circumvent the sensor in question.
How to add or remove users to your Vivint Smart Hub in Flint
Even though various users can be entered when your system is installed, you may want to add or remove a user down the road. Here’s how it’s done.
